I first saw this yesterday when I logged onto facebook and Fitness Magazine posted it. Then Britt posted a really good synopsis on her blog of what everyone should try and do this month :) The theme of National Nutrition Month this year: "Eating right with color".
I've been wanting to post about it, but really, Britt summed it up so well and I think you should click on her name up there and read her blog about it (shameless blog promoting? maybe, but I guarantee you won't be disappointed from reading her blog - you'll probably be inspired to be healthier, which is never a bad thing!)
To sum it up in a few key points:
1. Eat your fruits and veggies
2. Try new fruits and veggies
3. Stay away from processed and prepackaged foods as much as possible
For the most part, I'm happy to say that I already do this. I'm always willing to try new fruits and veggies, and I eat them like they're going out of style. And I really don't eat a whole lot of processed or packaged foods. Am I perfect?
So what am I going to do for National Nutrition Month? So glad you asked. I have a STACK of healthy recipes that I've torn out of all of my Shape/Fitness/Health magazines. My goal this month? To try as many new, healthy recipes as I can. I'm going to aim for rainbows (of food) on my plate.
:) What will you do for National Nutrition Month?
I swear I left a comment on this post. I've noticed sometimes my comments dont show up when I post to blogspot blogs.
