Weekly Workout #5

Planned miles for the week: 19

Monday: Rest/Cross-training day
Tuesday: 2 miles @ 9:59 min/pace
Wednesday: Rest/Cross-training day
Thursday: 5 mile tempo run, 3 miles @ 8:26 min/pace
Friday: Rest/Cross-training day
Saturday: Rest/Cross-training day
Sunday: 12 miles @ 9:59 min/pace

I was really grateful to have a 2 mile run this morning. Weird right? I have two reasons:

1. My right leg was a little off after the 10 miles Sunday, so I took it easy yesterday and figured a short, easy run would be good for today

2. I bought new running shoes yesterday! It was about that time anyway, so I headed over to Fleet Feet on my lunch break to get fitted for new shoes.

The lady who helped me (who was also named Rachel) was so nice and we talked marathons and training for a while before I realized if I didn't hurry I wouldn't have time to eat (I am not a happy camper without food).

Oh, wait... did you want to see them again? It doesn't matter what your answer is, here they are:

And in case you had any doubt that I am obsessed with Words With Friends in any form, when we got to my parents house on Sunday we spent hours doing this:

Hmmm...

I won.

Do you play Scrabble? You know, I didn't really care too much about it growing up, but now I LOVE it. I guess I am a real adult now.

Does your family play games? We love to! Another favorite: Scattergories. If you don't play it, you should.

  1. I love me some Scrabble! Any board game, really. My family loves Apples to Apples, Mad Gab, Set, and Sequence. We are all board game super nerds! :)

  2. I love Taboo! That's my favorite game. :-)

I have those same Asics, but they don't work for me. :-( I wish I knew when I bought them because they aren't cheap! But I see tons of people wearing them in races, so they work for a lot of others out there!

  3. I don't know why it takes me forever to pick a shoe. Did you research before you bought them or did you already knew you wanted those from previous experience?

She sends Brian texts sometimes "DeLanyB(brians screename) has not played LBlumrick in 7 hours" haha she is too funny!

  5. New shoes are always fun! Did you learn anything new about the way you run? Are you a neutral runner like you thought?

  6. Cute new shoes! And, yes, I'm a game addict. I'm slowly turning my kids into game addicts as part of my evil plan to have regular family game nights at our house. So far, we've conquered: Candy Land, Chutes & Ladders, Connect Four, & Uno! :-)

  7. Nice shoez!
My brothers and I used to trade games when we were little all the time. They wanted stuff like Risk. I wanted Candyland. (I'm a lot younger haha).
This is probably bc believe it or not, we grew up without a TV in the house.
I could go for a game of LIFE right now!

  8. LOVE the shoes ... and the Scrabble! Haven't played it in years. Think I'm going to have to dust it off.

  9. I'm an Asics girl all the way. Are those 2160's? I found 2150's on sale, so I'm on my 3rd pair of those before I move up to the 2160's :). I love Fleet Feet! They are always so helpful there.
